This course seeks to (1) Introduce parallel computing based on Linux programming and High-Performance Computing to process, transfer and store large Omics data sets; (2) introduce parallel computer scripting and concepts/principles of portable batch server and the management of the resource pertinent to big biomedical studies and (3) To bioinformatics database search/pattern discovery from various biomedical databases including DNA, drugs, phenotype and protein databases, such as Genbank and Swiss-Prot with applications in both research and medical practice to provide appropriate patient healthcare.

The proposed course aims to (1) support student in developing real time and work with Python based applications using advance concepts in Biomedical science; (2) empower biomedical trainees with computer programme and biomedical problem-solving skills using python and approaches through writing computers scripts to mine and modelling Omics data and (3) enabling biomedical students in applying python for computational and statistical approaches to analyse and modelling Omics data.
